Even if some idiot put up 7-8 bil collateral and then got ganked on the undock so what, 10 plex gone from the game. Whoopie doo. It would take THOUSANDS of PLEX getting popped in order to have a significant effect on the market and even then the effects would be short term (assuming all of the PLEXs were destroyed of course)

And do you seriously think the Goons will be able to get 100 freighter pilots to cough up 7-8 bil each and then undock knowing full well that there is a mass of gankers on the undock targeting freighters ? After the first few were popped, the rest probably wouldn't even accept the courier contracts, let alone try to undock

1,000 PLEX would be approx 500 bil. I think the PLEX market does roughly 13 trillion per month in trades ? So those thousand PLEXs would equal just over a day's trading volume. WOW ! Time to PANIC !

If the Goons bought up all the available PLEX, why would they need to blow them up?

The act of buying them up would have the desired effect of driving up prices, and then they would have them on hand to profit off of once the price reached a high enough level.
